Connections and Grants

How Connect creates provider connections and company account grants.

A connection stores the end user's broker credentials or OAuth tokens. A grant is your company's permission to access one or more integration accounts from that connection.

Connections

  • One user may have multiple connections per broker.
  • Connections are internal integration records.
  • Your app works with grants and account ids instead.
  • Reauth events fire when credentials become unusable; clients optionally can enable emails if this occurs.

Account grants

Grants encode:

  • Read access to balances, positions, orders, and transactions
  • Optional trading permission when the broker and your plan support it
  • The environment (sandbox or live)

Webhooks

Grant and sync lifecycle events are delivered over webhooks. See Webhooks for subscription setup and signature verification.
